I hope your week has been a lovely one! I have had a roller coaster week full of bright ideas and inspiration mixed with hard work and complete exhaustion. I consider myself to be a pretty ambitious person. I pile on activities, projects, and new adventures, but with all of this can come burn out. I had a realization while driving home on my busy commute yesterday that I need to stop and enjoy life's pleasures more often. I have been so consumed with all of my projects that I haven't had a mani/pedi, eyebrow wax, car wash, massage or just sipped a glass of wine for no reason in too long.

I love staying busy. Many might say that I am addicted to it. Even when I can't even imagine taking something else on I will get an idea that I must act upon. However, this can't be good for the soul. Every once and a while we should all take some time to "stop and smell the roses" or "stop and smell the Chanel" as I like to say. So, I am going to actively try to carve more time out for ME and focus on life and the pleasures it has to offer. Yesterday I shared a few of my own small pleasures and today I share a few things that I hope my weekend will bring.

*Enjoy the simple beauty of a wearing head to toe white
* Bask in the scent of my favorite perfume (a few of my favorites: Miss Dior Cherie and Chanel Chance)
*Clean my cottage and start to "cheat on fashion with furniture" as Carrie said.
*Buy fresh flowers from the market and read a deliciously decadent story
*Spend only two hours researching and reading for my upcoming projects (which I do enjoy)
*Go for a long therapeutic run and get back into yoga after almost a year off
*And remember the day that I realized a man in my life could be the one I will love forever

I hate to admit the irony in that I have a wedding to go to this weekend and that even my pleasure list is a bit too ambitious! Oh well!

Have a pleasure filled weekend my friends.

Love those scalloped shorts!
I also like to stay busy but sometimes it overwhelms me to constantly be going strong for months on end. It's good to stop and relax and just be with people that make you laugh and smile.

Your list mkaes me smile from ear to ear! It is perfect and often so true. In this day in age, we pile on too much stuff - don't allow ourselves to enjoy the small things!

The gym is something that I continually try to keep up with, it is my clear my head time - which I know you will enjoy!!!

Enjoy yourself! From one Taylor to another! :)

This is a great post. I think a lot of us get so consumed in day to day rituals that we forget to "stop and smell the Chanel"!

It's like you went into my brain, found all of my favorite things and then posted them! You're great... keep the fabulous, creative ideas flowing and have a restful, relaxing (if that's possible!), beautiful weekend! I'm heading to Cali in August... I can't wait for the sunshine... and Pinkberry ;)

I get it! It's really important to take a moment to look around and breathe and perhaps not even have a pleasure list of things 'to do'! Just take some time to 'be' in your space, take a step back and pat yourself on the back for all you've achieved!

Taylor, I'm so glad you posted this because I've been feeling very similarly...in fact, it kinda almost creeps me out that I had this talk w/ my hubby two nights ago... how work has been getting to me, and the blog...as much as I love it...can consume me sometimes and theres a pressure I feel to be great at it...when I had started it to share my passion and to be my outlet...it was suppose to be all enjoyable...and I'm turning it into a job...haha...but now you are speaking on the same subject and so is Emily on "cupcakes and cashmere"...crazyness...but also gives me a feeling of content, as I'm not the only one that needs to be reminded to enjoy the small and simple things in life...like my husband, my new house, my pets, cooking dinner, etc etc etc... Again, great post! :)

Have a great weekend!

Yeah I have been trying to stop piling too much on my plate as it were. The funny thing is I start feeling guilty for it!
I am hoping to have some me time this weekend. I think a bubble bath, facial and mani pedi is just what the dr. ordered!!

Miss Dior Cherie is seriously the scent of my life! I've been using it since the year it came out, and don't think I'll ever find anything better... :o)

I know exactly what you mean by being too ambitious... I add to my to-do list like no tomorrow for the satisfaction of being able to cross them out, but freak when something doesn't go as smoothly as I planned. I thrive on this sort of busy-ness but it totally wears a person out!

I hope you have a weekend full of rest and relaxation, Taylor.

Thank you for sharing the gorgeous photos in this post :)

I think we are a lot alike Taylor. I consider myself to be an incredibly ambitious person too. My mind is constantly buzzing with ideas and thoughts and I can't "turn it off"!! I am really excited to see the direction you take your blog/career! Did my email marketing suggestion last week help at all? Hope you had a great weekend.
